delightful american arts & crafts or craftsman style brightly colored chicago bungalow leaded art glass transom window attributed to the foster-munger co., chicago, il. the largely intact stained glass window contains cleans lines arranged in a rectilinear grid, accentuated with abstract floral motifs. this style prevailed between the dominant era of art nouveau and art deco during the first half of the 20th century. some of the best-known practitioners include william morris, charles rennie mackintosh, christopher dresser, frank lloyd wright, gustav stickley, greene & greene, charles voysey, christopher whall, etc. the window functioned as a transom, flanking a built-in nook. the chicago bungalow from which it came, was built in or around 1921. measures 39 x 24 inches. the original varnished wood sash frame is structurally sound and stable. some hairline cracks evident within a single panel. 39.75 x 25.5"
