original c. 1930's american industrial single-sided die cut steel "fire door" cautionary sign likely fabricated by the leslie sign company, chicago, il. the brightly colored cherry red enameled flush mount sign was salvaged from an old chicago paint factory. the sign was originally mount flush against an oversized sliding fire door diving two area within the factory. the enameled finish remains largely intact. expected surface wear. measures 14 1/2 x 7 inches.
