revisiting richard nickel's louis sullivan collection at lovejoy library in spring of 2024

lovejoy library in early spring of 2024. nothing has really changed much since the time richard nickel was alive and assiting them in the 1960s and 70s. perhaps of jack randall stuck around longer, more of nickel's collection would've seen the light of day. sadly, this will never happen.
richard nickel's copy of purchase order (dated jan, 3, 1966) issued by southern illinois university edwardville for his collection of sullivan ornament - now displayed in part at lovejoy library (see additional images below).
the university paid 12,000 dollars for the collection, which consisted of a few hundred adler and sullivan residential and commercial building artifacts salvaged between the 1950's and early 1960s.
nickel continued salvaging ornament from demolished a & s buildings on their behalf (under the direction of jack randall) until 1972, when he was killed in the chicago stock exchange.
