one of two matching antique american ornamental cast bronze interior residential high victorian passage or entrance door hinges designed and fabricated by the metallic compression casting company and/or the russell & erwin mfg. company, new britain, ct. the patented (1869) hinge contains a very intricate and finely cast design on each of the leaves with slightly raised borders. the loose pin hinge has been lightly polished years ago, but has a nicely aged patina since it was last cleaned. the oversized hinge finials are very elaborate in design. each leaf contains five screw holes for mounting purposes. priced individually.
