original c. 1940's vintage american industrial pressed and formed steel stool fabricated by the lyon metallic mfg. co., aurora, il. features a nicely weathered and worn gunship gray enameled finish. the angled steel legs are reinforced by four horizontal welded joint stretchers doubling as a footrest. the steel disc shoes (secured by pinched metal) are original and intact. pierced metal seat sound and stable. typical surface wear evident. salvaged from the short-lived brand brewery complex, built in 1899, and closed shortly after prohibition in 1935. the brewery buildings were later occupied by a multitude of businesses including, but not limited to, a rubber factory, cold storage facility and most recently, s & g engineering and mfg. company. seat height measures 26 inches.
