single antique c.1880's-1890's colorless glass medicinal bottle manufactured for the chicago based pharmacist boie c. winholt. the glass is finished with a narrow neck and flared prescription lip. the square body features beveled corners, and panels on two sides that round near the shoulder, with vertical embossing on the front, "b. winholt / pharmacist / 208 w. indiana st / chicago" with little casewear. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture, including bubbles and surface wear. discoloration or irridization is typical of dug bottles. the pharmacy appears to have been at the corner of what is today grand and aberdeen. in 1888 it was listed as the business place of dr. k sandberg, and as early as 1886 business lists b. winholt at that location.
