unique vintage industrial pressed and folded wrought brass "adlake" padlock and key made for the penn central railroad. fabricated by the the adams & westlake co., chicago, il. the six-lever padlock retains the original swinging keyhole cover. the cast bronze key contains lightly incised lettering representing the railroad the lock was assigned and/or made for. likely used for securing a "signal" box, boxcar shipments, or possibly luggage compartments. shackle is comprise of solid bronze. refinished. measures approximately 3 1/2 x 3 inches.
