19th century american ornamental cast bronze interior residential "screwless spindle" passage size doorknob designed and fabricated by the chicago hardware mfg. co., chicago, il. the victorian era doorknob retains the original baked black enameled inlay used to accentuate the casting detail. the knurled banded rim shows very little wear. mostly uniform surface patina left untouched. the doorknob shank is comprised of both iron and bronze. measures approximately 2 1/8 inches in diameter.
