matching set of visually stunning all original american hand wrought art glass martele slip shades designed and fabricated by the consolidated lamp & glass co., coraopolis, pa. the two lightly cleaned slip shades were once apart of a five-light ceiling fixture that graced the lobby of the chicago-based lawndale theater. founded in 1894, the consolidated lamp and glass company of coraopolis, pennsylvania made a wide variety of lamps and art glass shades. the more collectible wares were made after 1925, which include black satin glass, cosmos, martele, ruba rombic and other colored glassware. consolidated made martele glass in blue, crystal, green, pink, white or custard glass with added fired-on enameled color or a satin finish. the shades retain the original paper labels at the very bottom (portion concealed when mounted in a ceiling fixture or wall sconce. the frosted yellow or amber enameled finish remains largely intact. priced for the pair. each shade measures approximately 6 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches.
