american depression era industrial blue and white enameled lithographed tin automobile lamp advertising sign fabricated by or for the national lamp works of general electric, schenectady, ny. the single-sided sign was salvaged from a badly damaged hardware store countertop automotive light bulb storage cabinet. the tin metal sign features a centrally located graphic, depicting an incandescent light bulb prominently displayed within an outlined box containing the circular logos of mazda and general electric. surface wear and discoloration consistent with age. the custom-built mitered joint oak wood frame was salvaged from materials used in the construction of the chicago athletic club. measures 23 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches.
