c. 1940 american vintage industrial four-legged heavy gauge angled steel factory office stool fabricated by the angle steel stool co., plainwell, mi. the stool was delivered via the railway express agency to the indiana brass works company, located in frankfort, ind. an office or factory employee left a hand-written note in black ink that reads: "this stool entered this office on the afternoon of january 15th, 1940." the light blue enameled finish is older, but the approximate time frame of application is no known. the riveted and welded joint base is reinforced with cross-bracing and stretchers found primarily near the bottom. original solid birch wood seat. measures approximately 27 1/4 inches in height.
