structurally sound and intact c. 1950's vintage industrial freestanding single compartment basket supported by a three-legged stationary base. originally designed and fabricated by the union steel products co., albion, mi. the industrial basket is comprised of heavy gauge galvanized steel wire with a nicely aged surface patina. the union steel screen company was organized in 1902, and moved to albion, mi. in 1905. the name was changed to union steel products in 1915. union steel was the world’s largest manufacturer of oven and broiler pan shelves, and made numerous other wire basket related products.
