two matching original c. 1920's antique american interior residential copper-plated cast iron wall-mount closet garment or clothing hooks designed and fabricated by the stanley works, new britain, ct. each double hook is affixed to a distinctive heart-shaped backplate with two opposed holes for mounting purposes. each slightly curved hook contains a knob-like finial at the end. the original copper-plated finish remains largely intact. minor surface wear evident. the hooks were carefully removed from the closets of the john kent russell residence (constructed in chicago in 1855) shortly before demolition. the hooks were likely added around 1926, when the house underwent interior renovation. priced for the pair. multiple matching pairs available. bracket measures approximately 1 1/2 inches, hook protrudes from wall 4 inches.
