c. 1900-10 american interior commercial building flush mount office door mail chute or slot possibly fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the office door mail slot contains a large opening intended for "newspapers & printed matter." a dark metallic bronze enameled finish was applied to the recessed regions to accentuate the bold lettering. the backplate contains four screw holes for mounting purposes. measures 9 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches.
