c. 19010-20 original unrestored american antique white glazed terra cotta square-shaped terra cotta "sullivanesque" style block designed and fabricated by the midland terra cotta company, chicago, il. the highly ornate exterior building facade block contains richly organic design motifs in deep relief. the surface glazing contains a nicely aged allover crazing from prolonged exposure to the elements. the terra cotta block does contain a rear hallow cavity with brick and mortar removed to lessen the overall weight. the block or decorative panel was salvaged from a chicago commercial building now demolished. only one available. measures approximately 12 1/2 x 6 x 12 1/2 inches.
