c. 1900-1910 lightly cleaned antique american late victorian era ornamental cast iron "pasco" pattern banded rim doorknob and matching backplate designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the chrome plated banded rim interior residential door hardware remains in good overall condition with crisp casting detail and a largely intact plated finish throughout. multiple doorknobs and backplates or escutcheons in this pattern are available. yale & towne was founded as the yale lock manufacturing co. in stamford, connecticut in 1868 by linus yale, jr., the inventor of the pin tumbler lock, and henry r. towne. the name was later changed to yale & towne. priced for the set. doorknob measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and backplate 2 1/8 x 9 inches
