late 19th or early 20th century old american industrial adjustable height draftsman stool. the sturdy four-legged varnished white oak stationary base retains the original bentwood heel ring or footrest supported by four wood brackets. the outswept legs remain structurally sound and sturdy. the stool contains a brushed solid steel spindle affixed tightly to the maple wood swivel seat. the top portion of the legs are fastened to the cast iron housing containing the threaded spindle. manufactured by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago. when fully extended the stool measures 34 inches in height.
