c. 1880's antique american ornamental cast brass "brocade" pattern mortise lock designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin company, new britain, ct. the decorative residential mortise locks retains the original dead and latch bolts. the nicely aged patina was left intact. the cast iron case or box containing the lock's components has a baked black enameled finish, with an access panel attached with a single set screw.
