late 1930's art deco machine age barbershop coat rack manufactured by the emil j. paidar co., chicago, il. the freestanding coat or hat rack contains a weighted black enameled cast iron base with unique stepped profile. the heavy gauge steel pole retains the original chrome-plated finish. the revolving rack contains eight large hooks affixed tightly to two bands or rings comprised of steel. measures 78 x 20 1/2 inches.
