19th century antique american eastlake style ornamental cast brass "ceylon" pattern residential entrance door backplate. likely fabricated in the late 1880's by the p. & f. corbin hardware co., new britain, ct. original black enameled inlay remains somewhat intact. the fluted wrought brass collar or thimble remain in great condition. containing two mounting holes and single keyhole. mostly uniform surface patina. measures approximately 6 x 1 3/4 inches.
