the 40-story cream-colored glazed terra cotta building was designed by dinkelberg and partner joachim giaver, who was perhaps best known as assistant structural engineer for the 1893 world's fair. sadly, giaver died shortly after drawings for the building were completed in 1925. below dinkelberg's initials is the year construction started. the glazed terra cotta was executed by northwestern terra cotta company, chicago, ills.
