original hard to find late 1930's american art deco style single-sided flush mount oversized interior "atlite" exit sign designed and fabricated by the atlas electric products company, brooklyn, ny. the old depression era movie house electric fixture retains the original gold enameled finish. the super streamlined "can" is comprised of pressed and folded steel. the thick plate glass "exit" panel contains slightly raised lettering from either sand or acid etching. the machine age lettering contains a reverse-painted red finish. surface wear consistent with age. the can's interior retains the original socket used in conjunction with a standard incandescent light bulb. measures 16 x 4 x 10 1/4 inches.
