original early 20th century freestanding american medical cook county hospital radiology department crookes x-ray tube support stand designed and fabricated by or for the victor electric company, chicago, il. the stand is supported by a weighted three-legged cast iron base with original baked black enameled finish. the finely turned solid mahogany wood stand is comprised of two removable sections with the topmost pole containing a small ball finial. the specially fitted all-wood adjustable clamp with threaded wood screw contain felt pads used as a buffer against damage to the extremely fragile crookes tube. manufacturer markings are found along the cast iron base. the early 20th century crookes glass x-ray tube not included. base is 12 inches. 67 inches high
