late 19th century original "genoa" pattern american ornamental cast bronze door hardware designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the oversized backplate contains a single skeleton keyhole and four screw holes for mounting flush against an entrance door. the matching doorknob contains a sunken center with slightly raised button. intricate neoclassical motifs surround the edges. mostly uniform surface patina throughout. priced for the set. the backplate measures approximately 3 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches. the escutcheon measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
