highly desirable and exceptionally hard to find all original reinforced salvaged chicago cook county hospital compartmentalized cold-rolled steel filing and/or storage cabinet designed and fabricated by the canton metal art company, canton, oh. the refinished multi-drawer cabinet retains the original yellow brass handles and backplates tightly affixed to each and every drawer. the bottom section of the cabinet contains two identical lockable concealed compartments with original cast brass t-handles and decorative brass bead and reel trim. the exceptional "fire-proof" cabinet was one of many urban remains salvaged from the depths of cook county hospital. the majority of the furniture dates to the time the hospital was constructed. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat finish. the newly added wood top can be removed with ease if desired. 21 x 16 x 54"
