absolutely stunning american high victorian vestibule door salvaged from a lasalle street mansion built in 1883. the massive and incredibly heavy white oak wood door contains impressive raised panels with built-up molding. the completely intact glass pane is composed of a grid containing diamond-shaped french bevel glass accentuated repeatedly with faceted orange jewels. the original "brocade" pattern cast brass hardware (e.g., mortise, knobs and escutcheons) remains intact. amazingly, the original varnished finish remains largely intact with some surface crazing evident. door manufacturer unknown. measures 84 x 39 3/4 inches.
