richly colored all original and largely intact late 1880's antique american high victorian era salvaged chicago residential transom window possibly designed and fabricated by the flanagan and biedenweg company, chicago, ills. the exceptional window features a centrally located medallion center with floral motifs and faceted jewels surrounded by ruby red flash glass. the surrounding hevily textured slag glass panels and layered border provides a nice contrast to the vibrantly colored center. the transom window was fitted in without a sash frame. the non-extant gold coast mansion was built between 1887-1889. the newly added frame is comprised of oak with dark stained finish.
