fully functional american industrial freestanding all-metal floor lamp repurposed with two matching "explosion" or vapor-proof lamp fixtures designed and fabricated by the appleton electric company, chicago, il. the industrial stationary floor lamp is comprised largely of threaded-end steel piping supported by a heavy weighted cast iron base. the explosion proof fixtures contain highly desirable ruby red glass globes or bulb guards. each electric fixture contains a single incandescent light bub socket. the steel components have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the floor lamp has been rewired with braided cloth cord. measures approximately 19 x 10 x 61 inches.
