very unique and all original late 19th century hand-painted salvaged chicago storefront "cigars & candy" pine wood sign discovered on an erie street frame cottage undergoing demolition. the sign retains the original black and gold pant finish. the sign board was reused as sheathing on a cottage built during the 1890's. it was discovered during demolition. the sign is single-sided and contains wear and tear, along with holes from being nailed to clapboard.
