impressive original and intact c. 1880's american antique eastlake style "butterflies" pattern drum-shaped doorknob designed and fabricated by the norwalk lock co., norwalk, conn. the distinctive residential doorknob features a cluster of centrally located butterflies surrounded by a repeating quatrefoil design motif. the slightly recessed doorknob rim is accentuated by knurled edging. original baked black enameled inlay largely intact. nicely aged surface patina throughout. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
