original and intact dug late nineteenth century blue aqua glass hutchinson soda bottle manufactured for chicago bottler j.n. mulvihill. the slim tall body has high shoulders and a squat neck finished with an applied oval blobtop. the front bdy is embossed, "j.n. mulvihill / 127 n. green st. / chicago". the base is smooth and seams evidence manufacture in a cup bottom mold. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture. the dug bottle exhibits some surface wear and discoloration. j.n. mulvihill was partnered with william henry rohrig manufacturing soda and mineral waters. their factory was located at no. 127 north green street. according to an 1894 publication, "the late alderman j.n. mulvihill was shot by a ruffian in the latter part of january, 1894...".
