original and largely intact american industrial late 1930's two-tone enameled pine wood "heating" freestanding sign salvaged from an old west side chicago plumbing parts store. the diminutive letters contain a black and orange (used for added dimension) color scheme. minor paint loss and surface crazing evident. the wood letter sign was mounted above a large display case containing a variety of fittings. the letters are attached to a single strip of wood that was mounted above the showcase header. the interior painted sign measures 39 x 6 1/2 inches.
