original late 1920's american antique wall-mount cast bronze "service" plaque or sign likely designed and fabricated by the garden city plating & mfg. co., chicago, il. the single-sided mission style informational sign retains the original baked black enameled inlay used to accentuate the raised lettering. the nicely aged surface patina has been left untouched. the sign was salvaged from the extant noel state bank building, located in the wicker park neighborhood of chicago. the american neoclassical style bank building was designed and built by the architectural firm of weary & alford co., chicago, il., for joseph noel, who founded the north west savings bank in 1905. contains two opposed screw holes for mounting against a door or wall. two matching signs available. measures 10 x 2 1/2 inches.
