exceptional all original c. 1930's american art deco style interior j.c. penny's department store single-sided radiator grille. the exact fabricator or foundry is not known. the strongly geometric perforated grille or screen is comprised of wrought brass metal with a metallic bronze oil-rubbed enameled finish. the grille features a uniquely designed grid accentuated by multiple abstract floral motifs. the long, rectangular panel contains five repeating decorative segments. the decorative radiator cover was salvaged from a downtown milwaukee moderne style j.c. penny's department store constructed in 1935 with thomas l. rose as leading architect. excellent overall condition. measures 46 x 12 inches.
