large lot of matching c. 1880's antique american "brocade" pattern interior residential passage door cast bronze keyhole escutcheons designed and patented by arthur langerfeld for the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the unique field pattern or lattice work forms a "diaper pattern" backdrop from which raised ornament in the form of raised "dots" are positioned directly above and below the single keyhole opening. manufacturer markings are lightly incised on the backside of each escutcheon. priced for the lot. salvaged from a chicago graystone built around 1886-87. each plate measures 2 1/8 x 1 1/8 inches.
