matching set of complete wall mount "shur-stop" fire grenades fabricated by the international fire equipment corp., staten island, ny. the "automatic fireman on the wall" was intended to be thrown against burning objects, and thereby broken, releasing a fire extinguishing liquid. the "fire grenades" are comprised of gourd-shaped glass orbs with original red enameled finish largely intact. the fire extinguishing liquid contained within is carbon tetrachlorid. the orb is cradled within a bent steel rod affixed to a stamped steel backplate. the colorful enameled brass manufacturer plaques remain intact. priced for the pair.
