matching pair of original c. 1900-05 antique american ornamental cast iron "amalfi" pattern office door backplates or escutcheons designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the highly detailed neoclassical style backplates retains the original "rustproof" bower-barff finish. the backplates were likely salvaged from a commercial building located in downtown chicago. measures approximately 9 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. priced for the pair.
