matching set of original c. 1860's antique american victorian era white carrera marble fireplace keystones salvaged from a chicago italianate residence undergoing demolition. the two elegantly designed hand-carved keystones contain deeply incised and/or carved floral motifs popular during this period. the mantel keystones were likely fabricated by the schuremann & hand mantel co., chicago, il. surface wear and/or discoloration consistent with age. measure 8 x 81/2 inches. priced for the pair.
