original late 19th or early 20th century antique american ornamental cast iron "state university of iowa" monogrammed doorknob. possibly made by sargent or p. & f. corbin. the encircled overlapping lettering is surrounded by a neoclassic egg & dart border. original bower & barff finish remains largely intact. likely salvaged from an administration building office door. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
