vintage industrial scientific laboratory benchtop retort stand fabricated by the fisher scientific co., pittsburgh, pa. contains three black enameled cast iron ring clamps fabricated by the chicago apparatus company. the rectangular base with low-lying ogee feet and beveled edges contains the word "fisher" in lightly embossed lettering. the vertical rod with nickel-plated finish is comprised of solid heavy gauge steel. each ring supports early 20th century liquid level floats salvaged from the old boylston steam gauge factory, located in chicago. the largest measures 8 inches in diameter. the two smaller floats are comprised of copper. the stand itself measures 39 inches in height. asking price includes the three floats.
