original nicely aged c. 1907-10 american antique stamped ornamental brass "clinton" pattern interior pocket door backplate manufactured by the united states steel lock co., lyons, ia. the neoclassical style sliding door backplate features elegant embossed leafage with beaded border. mostly uniform surface patina throughout. the oval-shaped "cup" handle contains a centrally located skeleton keyhole. measures approximately 8 x 2 1/2 inches.
