very unique american depression era folk art "sock me" carnival or amusement park game piece comprised largely of hand painted, stitched heavy duty plain woven fabric with a weighted base. the knock down clown was often used in traditional carnival games (i.e., clobber the clown, etc). fabricator and/or artist not known. nicely worn surface consistent with age. only one available. measures 12 inches in height.
