original late 19th century antique america ornamental cast bronze interior residential pocket door backplate or escutcheon possibly fabricated by f.c. linde or the norwalk lock co. the original nickel-plated is partially worn off on the right side. features a centrally located deeply recessed "cup" handle with unique outer profile. the backplate contains a repeating fish scale field pattern with elegant floral motifs and rosettes surrounding each of the mounting holes. measures approximately 6 x 2 3/4 inches.
