very unique and distinctive fully functional american industrial "swing-way" patented stationary stool designed specifically for boat captains, locomotive engineers and other operations requiring confined spaces. the stool contains an expansive base comprised of cast aluminum. the 4 large pre-drilled holes are four anchoring the stool into the floor. the cast iron swing-out bracket supported a single solid steel threaded rod that lifts the seat up or down by manually rotating left or right. an l-shaped bracket prevents the seat from shifting, once a desired height is reached. the oversized solid mahogany wood stool seat with deeply grooved rim has been refinished. the cast aluminum, steel and iron components have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. two matching stool available. exact fabricator unknown. 14.5 x 32"
