all original and intact american machine age downtown chicago department or clothing store rolling garment rack designed and fabricated by or for the american fixture & showcase mfg., st. louis, mo. the remarkably well-designed, sleek and simple rack with single rod configuration, is comprised of tubular steel (originally plated with polished chrome). the pipe fittings contain a stacked "speed" ring shape or form at the top left and right corners. the weighted base features very unique oversized bulbous caster wheel "hoods" accentuated with simple incised lines. great overall condition with a mostly uniform surface patina. the art deco shelving unit measures at 35 inches x 20 inches x 65 1/2 inches.
