original 1920's three movement bank vault door time clock salvaged from a chicago bank building undergoing renovations. the chronometric satin yellow bronze clock was manufactured by the yale & towne mfg. co. and/or the diebold safe & lock co., canton, oh. the sophisticated vault clock was used with the multiple bolt-work of a safe door that would be automatically dogged or locked and unlocked at predetermined times - the dogging and releasing would be activated by the operation of the time mechanism and/or operator. the machined case retains the heavy vault clock retains the original hinged door with full viewable glass pane. the dials remain in great shape, considering age. measures 7 x 3 x 4 1/2 inches.
