thoroughly cleaned and refinished original depression era antique american medical pressed and folded cold-rolled steel hospital operating room instrument cabinet designed and fabricated by the frank s. betz. company, hammond, ind. the freestanding narrow supply cabinet contains highly desirable clear glass sidelights, along with a fully functional hinged front cabinet door with original lock and key. the medical cabinet retains the original removable and/or adjustable thick plate glass shelves supported by steel brackets mounted against slotted tracks. the lower section contains a single pull-out drawer and cabinet door. the original black bakelite handles are intact. the cabinet's exterior and top section interior have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the medical cabinet was salvaged from the old (now shuttered) cook county hospital. measures 20 x 16 x 62 1/2 inches.
