single late nineteenth century clear glass embossed medicinal bottle manufactured by unknown maker. the cylindrical bottle slopes steeply at the shoulders into a thick glass neck and somewhat crude rolled finish. the front body is embossed with a logo featuring a decorative double-lined circle, within which the contents are embossed "citrate / of / magnesia." the base is smooth and side seams evidence manufacture in a two piece mold. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacturing, including casewear, irridization from having been dug, and minor surface wear. citrate of magnesia was a common medicine used for treating constipation and upset stomach.
