completely intact and all original c. 1920-1925 antique american factory building machine shop hanging trouble pendant or drop light with the original galvanized steel lamp guard featuring an integrated coiled steel spring designed to prevent rattling the light biulb filament. the protective steel wire cage is expandable at the bottom for easy light bulb replacement. the top of the cage guard is protected by looping wire that is also able to expand and open. the factory pendant light retains the original braided rayon cloth cord. the white glazed ceramic or porcelain flush-mount ceiling canopy is original and intact. the brass shell socket with paddle or "key" contains the manufacturer's name "perkins" stamped on both sides. wear is typical of age and date of manufacture. the guard was designed and fabricated by the mcgill mfg. co., valparaiso, ind. bulb guard measures 5 inches long.
