original custom-built early 20th century american vintage industrial boiler room mechanic workbench salvaged from the non-extant cook county hospital power plant. the heavily reinforced two tier table is comprised of pine wood refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the tabletop and storage shelf consist of tongue and groove boards fastened tightly together. the post leg construction is both simple and sleek. the table is remarkably sound and sturdy. weathered and worn finish consistent with age. the industrial table was likely fabricated by the myers machine tool corp., columbia, pa. measures 72 x 28 x 36 1/2 inches.
